Implant Dentist · Master of the ICOI
Dr. Arpana Gupta Twenty-Five Years Of Exacting, Unhurried Care
Before she ever placed an implant, Dr. Arpana Gupta taught the hardest discipline in dentistry to rooms full of future dentists. As professor and head of the endodontics department at Subharti Dental College, her field was the inside of the tooth — root-canal work where a fraction of a millimeter is the difference between saving a tooth and losing it. She still treats every implant with that same margin for error: none.

That training never left her. Patients meeting Dr. Gupta for the first time tend to notice the same two things: how thoroughly she explains everything, and how calm the room feels while she does it. Anxious patients ask for her by name. So do complex cases.
A Master of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists — an advanced ICOI credential awarded on documented surgical case volume — Dr. Gupta has spent more than 25 years caring for patients across India, Massachusetts, and California, and is a co-founder of Center for Implant Dentistry.
The Practice
This Practice, At A Glance

From The Lecture Hall To The Bay Area
Dr. Gupta earned her dental degree with honors from King George Medical & Dental College in 1995, then a master's degree in endodontics from the same institution in 1999 — credentials that carried her to a professorship and a department chair before most clinicians finish finding their footing.
But the work that defines her happened far from any lecture hall. In 2001, she and Dr. Sam Jain founded a federally funded dental clinic in rural Franklin County, Massachusetts. For years they were the county's only dentists treating uninsured and low-income patients — families who otherwise simply went without care. The county presented her its Health Leadership Award for that work; she'll tell you the patients were the point.
In the Bay Area, that same instinct shapes how she practices implant dentistry: no one rushed, no one talked past, no question left half-answered. Her endodontic background — a career spent working inside teeth — gives her a rare, literal depth of understanding of what your implant must replace, and what it takes to make the result feel like your own.

A Family Practice In Every Sense Of The Word
Dr. Gupta and Dr. Jain are married — partners in the clinic they built together and in the family they raised alongside it. Their two children, Gauri and Paras, are now pursuing dentistry themselves at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. When we say family-owned, this is precisely what we mean: the same two doctors, the same standard, the same front door, year after year.
For patients, that continuity is more than sentiment. It means the doctor who examines you is a co-owner of the outcome — clinically, professionally, personally. It means your questions are answered by the person who will actually do the work. And it means that decades from now, the practice looking after your implant intends to be the one that placed it.
Away from the operatory, Dr. Gupta loves dancing, traveling, and time with her family. In the chair, what she loves most is watching an anxious patient relax once they realize they're in careful hands — and that this will be easier than they feared.
