Your Privacy Choices · Last updated August 2026
This page is the practical companion to our Privacy Policy: every choice you have about your information, and the exact steps to use each one. The California Consumer Privacy Act applies to businesses above certain size thresholds; whether or not it technically applies to a practice of our size in a given year, we honor these requests. Making one is free, and it will never affect the care or service you receive.
For your dental and medical records, health-privacy law provides its own — often stronger — rights. Those are described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
How To Reach Us With Any Privacy Request
Two ways, both reaching our Privacy Officer: call (510) 574-0496 or email info@bayareaimplantdentistry.com. Tell us what you want done — access, a copy, deletion, correction, or an opt-out — and the name and phone number or email you used with us, so we can find your information. We confirm receipt, and we respond within 45 days; if a request is unusually complex we may take one 45-day extension, and we will tell you if so.
What You Can Ask For
- Know and access — what categories of information we have about you, where it came from, why we collected it, who received it, and a copy of the specific pieces.
- Delete — removal of your personal information, subject to legal exceptions; health records we are required by law to retain are the main one, and we will tell you when an exception applies rather than silently keeping data.
- Correct — fixing inaccurate information, from a misspelled name to a wrong phone number.
- Portability — the information you gave us, in a usable format you can take elsewhere.
- Non-discrimination — none of these requests changes your care, your pricing, or how we treat you.
How We Verify Requests — And When We Don't
For requests to access, delete, or correct information, we verify that you are who you say you are before acting — usually by matching the details of your request against the contact information we already hold, and for sensitive requests by calling you back at the number on file. That protects you from someone else pulling or erasing your information.
Opt-out requests are different: declining tracking, sending a Global Privacy Control signal, or asking us not to sell or share your information requires no verification at all. We simply honor it.
Authorized Agents
You may have someone else — a family member, an attorney, any person or business you choose — submit a request for you. We will ask for your signed permission authorizing the agent, or proof of a power of attorney, and we may still confirm directly with you that the request is genuine. This is the standard California authorized-agent procedure, and it exists so nobody can impersonate you.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Here is the truthful state of things: we do not sell your personal information, and we do not currently share it with anyone for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is no advertising pixel on this site, no remarketing audience, and no lead-list upload to any ad platform — so today, there is nothing to opt out of.
If that ever changes — for example, if the practice ever runs online advertising with conversion tracking — this page and the privacy policy will be updated first, before any selling or sharing begins, with a conspicuous opt-out link and honoring of Global Privacy Control as the opt-out signal. You should never have to discover a change like that after the fact.
Global Privacy Control — Honored Automatically
If your browser or a browser extension sends the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, this site honors it automatically, in the strongest form available: neither Google Analytics nor Microsoft Clarity loads at all for your visit, and Vercel Speed Insights sends nothing. Nothing to click, nothing to configure on our side — and a GPC signal overrides even an analytics consent you previously accepted. GPC is built into several privacy-focused browsers and available as a free extension for the mainstream ones.
Session Analytics Consent — Accepting, Declining, Changing Your Mind
Microsoft Clarity session analytics runs only if you accept the small consent notice that appears on your first visit. Decline it, dismiss it, or simply never answer, and the recorder never loads — and a declined choice is remembered so you are not re-asked on every page.
To revoke an earlier acceptance: your choice is stored in your own browser, not on our servers, so clear this site's cookies and site data in your browser settings and the consent notice will appear again on your next visit — decline it then. Turning on Global Privacy Control also overrides a stored acceptance immediately, with nothing to clear.
Communication Preferences
Appointment reminders and texts. Our reminders and text messages are sent through Weave, our patient-communication service, and you only receive texts if you gave consent — such as ticking the consent box on the consultation form. To stop them, reply STOP to any text and you are opted out; you can also call or email us and we will switch texts off for your number. Be aware that stopping texts stops appointment reminders too — you may miss a reminder you would otherwise have received — but it never affects your care, and anything about your treatment can always continue by phone instead.
Phone calls. If you prefer not to receive calls that are not about your treatment — scheduling outreach, follow-up on a consultation request — call or email us and ask to be marked do-not-call for anything non-treatment. We will note it on your record and honor it.
What cannot be switched off. Some communications are part of running your care safely and we cannot opt you out of them: messages necessary for your treatment, billing for services you received, safety notices (for example, a post-operative concern or a recall), and legally required communications about your records. Honestly stated: we keep these to what is actually necessary — they are not a channel for anything promotional.
Marketing email. We do not send marketing email. There is no newsletter, no promotional list, and no email-marketing platform behind this practice — so there is nothing to unsubscribe from. If that ever changes, every marketing email will carry a working unsubscribe link from the first message, and this page will say so first.
Your Health Records
Requests about your dental and medical records — copies, amendments, restrictions, an accounting of disclosures — follow the HIPAA procedures in our Notice of Privacy Practices, with a plain-language summary at Your Health Information Privacy Rights. Same phone number, same email — we route it correctly for you.
