In-House Lab · Zirconia Milled On-Site
A Crown Shouldn't Take Three Appointments And A Shipping Label.
The classic crown experience: goopy impressions, a plastic temporary that pops off at dinner, two weeks of waiting on a lab across the country, then a fitting appointment where everyone hopes it fits. None of that is dentistry — it's logistics. And it exists only because most offices don't make anything; they order.

We manufacture. The same on-site lab that mills full zirconia arches — industrial CNC machines, CAD designers, ceramists, run under Dr. Jain's engineering direction — cuts single crowns from solid zirconia blocks too. Your tooth is scanned digitally, the crown is designed here, milled here, and for qualifying cases seated the same day. Adjustments happen down the hall while you wait, not by mail.
That covers both kinds of crown work: caps for natural teeth that can be saved, and implant crowns — the tooth-on-an-implant restorations that are our daily bread, compatible with the premium systems we place: Nobel Biocare, Straumann, and Zimmer Biomet. Broken tooth and not sure which you need? The free consultation and 3D scan answers that honestly, in one visit.

Why The Mill Down The Hall Makes A Better Crown, Not Just A Faster One

The Mill Down The Hall
Speed is what patients notice; precision is what they keep. A crown's long-term success lives in tenths of millimeters — the fit at the margin where crown meets tooth, the tightness of the contacts against neighboring teeth, the way the bite lands. When that fit is dialed in by the team that scanned you, on machines they run daily, while you're still in the building, errors get caught and corrected in minutes. When it's fitted from a box that arrived by courier, errors get 'made to work.'
The material matters just as much. Our crowns are milled from solid monolithic zirconia — the same high-strength material we trust for full-arch teeth that take decades of chewing. No porcelain shell to chip away from a metal core, no gray line creeping out at the gum in five years. And because material selection is an engineering decision here, a heavy-bite molar and a front tooth in a high smile line don't automatically get the same answer — our materials page explains how we choose.
For implant patients, this is simply the finishing step of the system: implants from Nobel Biocare, Straumann, and Zimmer Biomet — the most documented systems in the field — restored with crowns and abutments designed and milled by the same team that placed them. One accountable workflow, from titanium to final bite. If a crown from somewhere else has failed on your implant, we repair and remake those too.
A Crown In One Visit — What Patients Ask About It
How can a crown be done the same day?
Because the lab is in the building. The traditional crown timeline — impressions, a temporary crown, two weeks of waiting while a distant lab works, then a second visit hoping it fits — exists because most offices ship the work out. Here, your tooth is scanned digitally, the crown is designed on-screen, and our own CNC mill cuts it from a solid zirconia block down the hall. Qualifying cases are seated the same day, and most others within about 24 hours. If the shade or contact needs a tweak, it's adjusted here, immediately — not shipped back.
What's the difference between a crown on a tooth and an implant crown?
A conventional crown caps a natural tooth that's been prepared for it. An implant crown replaces the whole tooth: it attaches to an implant in the bone via a connector called an abutment, so nothing rests on natural tooth structure at all. Implant crowns are the heart of our daily work — we design and mill the crown and abutment in-house to fit implants precisely, including all the major premium systems we place: Nobel Biocare, Straumann, and Zimmer Biomet. If you already have an implant from another office and need its crown made or replaced, that's routine here too.
Is zirconia better than a porcelain-fused-to-metal crown?
For most modern cases, yes — with honest caveats. Monolithic zirconia is milled from a single dense block, so there's no porcelain layer to chip off a metal base, no gray line appearing at the gum over time, and the strength handles molars and heavy bites. Where esthetics on a front tooth demand maximum translucency, layered ceramic options exist and we'll say so. The material recommendation follows the tooth's job — biting, grinding, or being seen — not a one-size default.
My tooth broke — do I need a crown or an implant?
It depends on what's left of the tooth, and you deserve an unbiased answer. If enough healthy structure remains and the root is sound, a crown (sometimes with other restorative work first) saves the tooth — and saving a savable tooth is almost always right. If the tooth is fractured below the gumline, split, or failing at the root, a crown would just be a nice hat on a condemned building; extraction and an implant is the honest fix. Because we do both — crowns and implants, under one roof — the recommendation isn't steered by what the office happens to offer. The free 3D scan settles it in one visit.
What does a crown cost, and does insurance cover it?
Crowns are commonly covered in meaningful part by PPO dental insurance — they're one of the most routinely covered restorative procedures. Your exact quote depends on the tooth, the material, and whether it's a tooth crown or an implant crown with an abutment, so we do what we do with every price here: examine, scan if needed, and hand you an itemized written number before anything starts. We're in-network with many PPO plans and file the claims paperwork for you; financing through our four lending partners applies to crowns as well.
I'm not an implant patient — will you still make my crown?
Yes. Crowns are part of our restorative work for implant patients and non-implant patients alike — the mill doesn't care whether the tooth under the crown is natural or titanium. What we won't do is drift outside our lane: we're not a general-dentistry office for cleanings, fillings, and checkups, and if what your mouth really needs is comprehensive general care, we'll say so and point you right. But if the job is a crown — especially one you'd like done fast, precisely, and without three appointments — that's squarely what our lab was built for.
