A Family-Owned Implant Practice
Dr. Jain Left Machines To Fix People Instead
Sam Jain started out an engineer. He earned a master's in mechanical engineering and learned to think in torque, tolerances, and load — the way forces travel through a structure until it either holds or fails. He was good at it. But a machine that breaks gets replaced, and a person who can't eat dinner at their own table does not. He wanted the second problem. So he went back to school, earned a dental degree, and spent the rest of his life pointing an engineer's mind at a human one.

That instinct is the whole reason this center exists. Dr. Jain and his wife, Dr. Arpana Gupta — who holds a master's in endodontics and, like him, is an ICOI Master — don't run a general dental office that also does implants. They built a center that does one thing: dental implants, and they plan, place, and finish every case themselves. No fly-in surgeons. No handing your bite to a stranger. The two people who examine you are the two people who see it through, which is exactly why we wrote out who does the work and why it matters.
This is the part most 'about the center for implant dentistry' pages leave out: the reason behind the precision. The 3D scans and the milling machine and the guided surgery are all real, and they matter. But they're in service of something plainer — a grandfather chewing a steak, a mother laughing without a hand over her mouth, a face that still looks like the person you've always been.

Before The Bay Area, There Was A Free Clinic

Before The Bay Area,
Rewind to 2001, to a rural stretch of Franklin County, Massachusetts. If you were uninsured there and your tooth was killing you, there was one door that would still see you — and it was theirs. Dr. Jain and Dr. Gupta ran the only clinic in the county caring for patients with no insurance, the people every other office turned away. It was not lucrative. That was never the point.
Massachusetts recognized it with a Health Leadership Award, which was kind, but the award isn't the story. The story is the habit it reveals. Twenty-five years later the same two people are still deciding, case by case, that a person in front of them matters more than the easy version of the job. When a patient walks in today having been told 'you have no bone, nothing can be done,' that's the reflex that answers — with zygomatic implants that anchor in the cheekbone, with grafting, with a rescue of an implant that failed somewhere cheaper and faster.
They came west and, in 2008, planted a family practice in Fremont that has stood in the same place under the same name ever since. Meet the surgeon who started it on Dr. Sam Jain's page — engineer, dentist, and the person who invented the All-on-8 Robust protocol because four implants weren't enough for the bites he was seeing.

An Engineer's Lab,
An Engineer's Lab, Run By The Family
Most implant centers mail your teeth to an outside lab and wait. We don't. There is a CAD/CAM zirconia mill under our own roof, run by the family's engineer, Andy Jain, and it changes what a patient's week looks like. Your final teeth are designed, milled, and finished here — roughly 24 hours for single and multiple implants, about 72 hours for a full arch — instead of months in temporary plastic. The free 3D CBCT, the guided surgery on X-Guide and Navident EVO, the IV sedation, the milling: all of it under one roof, all of it owned by the doctors treating you.
Doing it in-house isn't a flex — it's the honest version of the work, and it's cheaper, which is the whole point. No outside-lab markup, no visiting surgeon's travel bill, no per-implant upcharges — and about 92% of full-arch patients finance their care through options like Cherry or CareCredit. The savings go to the patient, not the middleman.
And here's the part that tells you this is a family-owned implant practice and not a brand: the kids grew up around it. Paras and Gauri are now DDS candidates at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, choosing the same life their parents chose. The family also runs Peninsula Dental Implant Center in Redwood City. This is not a chain that will be sold to private equity and renamed next year. It's a family that will still be standing behind this door in twenty years — the same reason patients come back, and the reason we ask you to read why patients choose us before you trust anyone with your mouth.
About This Family, And The Practice We Built
Is Center for Implant Dentistry really family-owned?
Yes. It's owned and run by Dr. Sam Jain and his wife, Dr. Arpana Gupta — the two surgeons who plan, place, and restore every case themselves. Their son Andy Jain, an engineer, runs the in-house CAD/CAM lab, and their children Paras and Gauri are now DDS candidates. The family also operates Peninsula Dental Implant Center in Redwood City. The practice has stood in the same place, under the same family, since 2008.
Why did Dr. Jain switch from engineering to dentistry?
Dr. Jain earned a master's in mechanical engineering before dentistry. He wanted to fix people rather than machines, so he earned a dental degree and now applies an engineer's understanding of force and load to implant surgery — which is how he came to invent the All-on-8 Robust protocol. He and Dr. Gupta are both ICOI Masters.
What was the free clinic in Massachusetts?
In 2001, Dr. Jain and Dr. Gupta ran the only clinic in rural Franklin County, Massachusetts caring for patients with no insurance. Their work there earned a Massachusetts Health Leadership Award. That commitment to patients others turned away still shapes how they take on hard cases today, including failed-implant rescues and 'no bone' cases.
Does this center do anything besides dental implants?
No — this is an implants-only center, by design. Everything under the roof exists to plan, place, and finish dental implants: free 3D CBCT imaging, guided surgery, IV sedation, and an in-house zirconia mill that produces final teeth in roughly 24 hours for single and multiple implants, or about 72 hours for a full arch.
Will the same doctors still be here years from now?
That's the intent of a family-owned practice. Dr. Jain and Dr. Gupta have run this practice in the same location since 2008, their children are entering dentistry, and there are no fly-in surgeons who place implants and disappear. The team that places your implants is the team you'll see for maintenance and follow-up for years afterward.
