More Roots, More Support

Four Implants Can Hold an Arch. Six Spread the Load Across It.

All-on-6 rebuilds an entire upper or lower jaw of missing or failing teeth on six dental implants and one fixed set of teeth. It’s the same idea as All-on-4 — a full arch anchored on implants instead of resting on your gums — with two more roots doing the work.

A patient outside the Fremont office
Patients drive past three other offices to get to this one.

Those two extra posts aren’t about selling you more. They change the physics. Six implants spread every bite more evenly across the arch, shorten the unsupported ‘cantilever’ ends that quietly stress a four-implant bridge, and give you redundancy — if one implant ever needs attention, five are still carrying the load. In softer or less dense bone, especially in the upper jaw, that extra support is often what turns a good plan into a durable one.

Our pricing removes the usual conflict of interest: we place as many implants as your bone truly needs — often six to eight per arch — for the same per-arch price. So All-on-6 isn’t an upsell here. It’s simply what many patients get when four isn’t enough. Weighing your options? Compare All-on-4 vs All-on-6 vs All-on-8 or read about our All-on-8 Robust protocol.

Six Implants vs Four. Where the Two Extra Roots Earn Their Keep.

Both rebuild a full arch on the same day. Here's honestly where a six-implant arch differs from a standard four-implant one — and why your bone, not a price tier, should decide.

Load distribution

All-on-6 (six implants)Six anchor points share the bite across the whole arch, so no single implant is overworked — closer to how a full set of natural roots carries force.

A standard All-on-4Four points carry the same arch. It works, but each implant and the bridge between them takes on more of every bite.

Cantilever stress

All-on-6 (six implants)More implants mean shorter unsupported ends behind the last post — less leverage working against the arch over the years.

A standard All-on-4Longer cantilevers at the back of the arch put extra strain on the rear implants and the framework over time.

Built-in redundancy

All-on-6 (six implants)If one implant ever needs attention, five others keep the arch stable — margin for the long haul.

A standard All-on-4With four, every implant is essential; there is less room to spare if one has a problem.

Softer or thinner bone

All-on-6 (six implants)The extra posts spread force where bone is less dense — often the difference-maker in the upper jaw.

A standard All-on-4Can be excellent in dense bone, but leaves less margin where the ridge is soft or resorbed.

What it costs you here

All-on-6 (six implants)No upcharge. We place six to eight whenever your bone calls for it — your per-arch fee stays the same either way.

A standard All-on-4At many centers, four is the fixed package and each added implant is billed as an upgrade.

Timeline

All-on-6 (six implants)Fixed teeth the same day; final custom-milled zirconia in about 72 hours from our on-site lab.

A standard All-on-4Same-day teeth as well — the day itself isn't longer; the difference is the foundation underneath.

Comparisons are general guidance; your plan is confirmed after an exam and free 3D CBCT scan. Individual results vary.

The Number Isn't a Package. It's What Your Bone Needs.

The Number Isn't a Package

Walk into most full-arch centers and the implant count is decided before they've seen your bone — four is the package, and anything more is an upgrade line on the invoice. We start from the opposite end. Your free 3D CBCT scan shows exactly how much bone you have and where it's dense, and the plan follows the anatomy: some arches are solid on four, many are better on six, and some need eight.

Whatever that number turns out to be, you pay per arch, not per implant. Six or eight, the quote doesn't move — a foundation that lasts shouldn't depend on your budget. That's how a family-owned, implant-only practice can put the engineering first — the same doctors plan it, place it, and build your teeth in our own lab, with no one billing for extra posts.

An Engineer Plans the Load Path

On-site milling of a custom zirconia full-arch prosthesis at Center for Implant Dentistry

An Engineer Plans the Load Path

A full arch on implants is, quite literally, a structure — and Dr. Sam Jain plans it like one. Before dentistry he earned a master's in mechanical engineering — a rare combination he puts to work on every arch. Bite forces, implant angles, torque, and the length of the cantilever behind the last implant aren't afterthoughts; they're calculated so your arch is built to last decades, not just to look right on day one.

That engineering mindset is why the six-versus-four decision here is about where the force actually travels, not a menu. Every case is planned on your own 3D scan and placed with guided navigation for precision. And because we mill your final zirconia teeth in our own on-site lab, the arch that goes in your mouth is made to the exact plan — no outsourced approximations. For arches where the bone has thinned, we graft, angle the implants, or place zygomatic implants in the cheekbone rather than compromise the foundation.

One Price Per Arch, However Many Roots It Takes

Full-arch treatment is quoted per arch with your fixed teeth included, and the implant count is set by your bone, not by an upgrade menu. Because the surgery, the planning, and our zirconia lab share one address, the number you get is the number the work costs.

About 92% of our full-arch patients finance with a monthly plan sized to their quote and term, and prequalifying takes minutes with no impact on your credit. We’re in-network with many PPO plans. You’ll get an itemized number in writing at a free consultation with a 3D CBCT scan — together a $499 value — so you decide with your real anatomy and your real price in front of you. Why Six And Not Four? The Questions Patients Ask Next

What's the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-6?

The number of roots holding your arch. All-on-4 rebuilds a full jaw on four implants; All-on-6 uses six. Two extra posts sound minor, but they change how the bite is carried: six implants spread the force more evenly across the arch, shorten the unsupported ends that stress a four-implant bridge, and leave you with built-in redundancy. It's the difference between a table on four legs and one on six — both stand, but one is harder to rock.

Is All-on-6 better than All-on-4?

For many arches, yes — but it depends on your bone, not a sales tier. More implants mean more even load distribution and more margin for safety, which matters most in the upper jaw and in softer or less dense bone. That said, a well-planned All-on-4 is the right answer for plenty of patients. We don't decide from a brochure; we decide from your free 3D CBCT scan. And if the scan says four is genuinely enough, we'll tell you that too — the decision is anatomical, not commercial.

Do you charge more for six implants than four?

No. This is where we're different from most centers. A lot of offices anchor an arch on four implants no matter what, then treat additional posts as an upgrade. We start from what your anatomy actually needs — often six to eight per arch. Your price is quoted per arch, and it stays the same whether that arch ends up on four implants or eight.

How long does All-on-6 take, and when do I get teeth?

You do not leave without teeth. On surgery day, Dr. Jain or Dr. Gupta places the six implants with guided surgery and fits a fixed set of teeth so you walk out chewing — not in a removable denture. Because we design and mill your final zirconia arch in our own on-site lab rather than shipping it out, most full-arch patients receive their permanent, custom-milled teeth in about 72 hours. Your doctor confirms your exact timeline at your free consultation.

How much do All-on-6 dental implants cost?

Full-arch treatment here is quoted per arch, with your fixed teeth included — the implant count follows your scan, not your invoice. Your exact number follows your anatomy — grafting, sinus work, and sedation are itemized when your case calls for them. Because the surgery, the planning, and our zirconia lab all live under one roof, there are no fly-in surgeons or outsourced-lab markups in your number, and your finished arch is backed by our care-for-life warranty. About 92% of our full-arch patients finance, and prequalifying takes minutes with no impact on your credit. You get an itemized number in writing at your free consult.

What if my bone can't support six implants?

That's a case we take, not a reason to turn you away. When the ridge has thinned from years of missing teeth or denture wear, we bone-graft, place implants at an angle, or — for severe upper-jaw loss — anchor zygomatic implants in the dense cheekbone, which skips grafting entirely. Dr. Jain is an ICOI Master who also holds a master's in mechanical engineering, so he plans each arch around the bone you actually have. Many patients told 'no' elsewhere turn out to be candidates once we see the 3D scan.
