Andy Jain The Engineer Behind Every Same-Day Smile
When patients hear that our permanent zirconia teeth are designed, milled, and finished inside the practice — often the same day as surgery — the natural question is: who actually does that? At Center for Implant Dentistry, a large part of the answer is Andy Jain.

Andy holds a master’s in mechanical engineering from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from UC Davis and serves as both Treatment Plan Coordinator and Lab Engineer — the person who translates the doctors’ surgical plan into a digital design, and the digital design into a physical tooth that fits the way it was drawn.
It's exacting, invisible work. When it's done well, you never think about it — you just chew, speak, and smile on a restoration that behaves like it grew there. That is the entire point.

Where Precision Becomes A Craft
Dental restorations live in an unforgiving environment: bite forces measured in hundreds of pounds, temperatures that swing from ice water to hot coffee, and a margin for error measured in fractions of a millimeter. It's an environment an engineer understands instinctively — which is exactly what Andy brings to dental CAD/CAM design, digital treatment planning, and restoration fabrication.
Working alongside his brother Dr. Sam Jain and Dr. Arpana Gupta, Andy helps coordinate each patient's treatment plan from the first 3D scan to final delivery, then carries that plan into the lab: designing crowns, bridges, and implant-supported prosthetics digitally, milling them on-site, and refining shade, shape, and bite until the restoration disappears into the smile around it.
His engineering background, attention to detail, and hands-on craftsmanship are a quiet but constant part of why teeth made in our lab fit the way they were designed to — and why 'same-day' at this practice describes a workflow, not a wish.

Andy's bench is a few steps from the operatory. When a doctor wants a contour adjusted or a contact point refined, the conversation happens in person, over the actual restoration, often within minutes. Every piece is checked against the digital plan before it ever touches your mouth.
